Don knew the moment he woke up that something was wrong. He had a killer hangover, and knew that he'd had too much fun last night with his new friend. He knew it was late when he got home, but he wasn't worried because he'd covered the bases with Jackson. He got out of bed and made his way to the kitchen for some water when he saw an envelope on the kitchen addressed to him. He sat down at the table, opened up the envelope and began to read the letter that was inside.....

Don,
I know what time you came in last night. It was shortly after 3 A.M. At least you had the decency to come home this time. I know that if I ask, you'll just tell me that you got tied up on that case you've been working on. That would be an outright lie because I followed you tonight, and I saw you and your new "friend" together. Hell, I even stayed long enough to watch you kiss him. That's how I know there's more to it than simply working overtime.

Don, I know exactly what goes on inside your head. You think that you can tell me anything and I'll eat it up with a spoon and believe every word. Not anymore, because I'm to the point that I don't care about us. There once was a time that I would have fought for you and what we had, but those days are gone because you have managed to kill what love I had for you.

It hurts to leave, but I refuse to stay in a relationship that's going to hell on the fast track. So, the next time you want to sneak in, ring the doorbell. I've lost too much sleep over nothing, and I'm tired of hearing nothing sneaking in.....
