Ryan looked down at the man sleeping so peacefully next to him, his lips curving into a smile as his gaze roamed over Greg's handsome features. It would never cease to amaze him that he was loved by this man; how had he gotten so lucky?

Not a day went by when he didn't thank whatever aspect of fate had brought Greg into his life. He hadn't been looking for a lover when he'd moved to Vegas, but having found Greg had made the life he'd started here more full and happy than he'd ever dreamed it could be.

He couldn't believe that someone as beautiful as Greg had fallen in love with him; when he'd been in Miami, he could never have hoped to hold the heart of someone like the man at his side. He'd never had believed that he could even hope to date a man like Greg.

But somehow, coming here to Vegas had changed everything. His life had gotten better since the moment he'd gotten here; meeting Greg had made him feel that his life was finally complete, that the last piece of the puzzle of his existence had fallen neatly into place.

How could it be possible that such an extraordinary beauty had simply fallen into his arms? What was it about him that had drawn Greg to him, had made this man's heart entwine with his? What had drawn them to each other like two moths to a kindled flame?

Ryan sighed softly, reaching out a hand to stroke gentle fingertips down the softness of Greg's cheek. He might never know the answers to those questions, but they shouldn't matter. The only thing that was really important was that they had found each other.

He had no words for how much Greg meant to him; there was no way that he could describe the enormity of his love for this man. And no way that he could possibly find words to describe how beautiful Greg was, how that beauty shone through from the inside out.

Even now, lying here in bed after they'd made love and Greg had fallen into a deep and peaceful sleep, Ryan couldn't take his eyes off his lover. There was something about Greg that captured him, enthralled him, made it impossible for him to look away.

How was it possible that this man had still been single and available when they had met? Ryan knew that he would never cease to marvel over the fact that Greg hadn't been snapped up long before now; he'd been lucky that the man of his dreams hadn't already been taken.

Greg would say that fate had brought them to each other, and kept him from getting involved with anyone else because he'd been intended for Ryan. He couldn't help smiling at the thought; maybe his boyfriend was right about that, and this was all due to fate.

Before he'd met Greg, he would never have thought something like that, he mused. If anyone had told him that meeting the person who would capture his heart had been due to a quirk of fate, he would have laughed the idea away.

But maybe there was something to it. Maybe the two of them had been brought together because they were indeed fated to be with each other; maybe this had been planned long before either of them was born. It sounded a little crazy, but it was entirely possible.

Nothing seemed impossible with the man he loved by his side. Somehow, Greg made him feel as though he was invincible, as if he could achieve anything that he set out to do. Greg's love made him strong; loving this man made him capable of great things.

No one else had ever made him feel that way, Ryan thought, stroking Greg's hair lovingly as he gazed at his sleeping boyfriend. No one else had ever captured his heart and soul in the way that Greg did; no one else could ever mean this much to him.

It wasn't just that Greg was beautiful, Ryan told himself. It wasn't only that gorgeous face and body; it was the fact that Greg was beautiful on the inside, where it truly mattered. He was the kind of person whose inner beauty shone through from the inside out.

That inner beauty wasn't what had first attracted him, he had to admit. It had been that gorgeous face, that incredible smile -- and that aura of sensuality that seemed to surround Greg. It had been the physical attributes that had drawn him to Greg at first sight.

Even though it had been Greg's obvious physical attractions that had caught his interest at first sight, there had still been something else there -- something that had jumped out at him and made him look at this man in a light that was more than physical.

Had it been love at first sight? Ryan had never really believed in that phenomenon, but after the way he'd felt when he and Greg had first shaken hands and smiled at each other, his attitude had changed. Love at first sight definitely existed. He'd experienced it.

How could anyone not feel that way about Greg? How could they not be attracted by that beautiful face, that breathtaking smile, the look in those deep brown eyes? Did everyone feel that way when they first met Greg, whether they realized it or not?

No, he decided, shaking his head. That feeling must have been reserved for him, and him alone. After all. he was the person whom fate had chosen to be with Greg, to love and be loved in return. And he was the luckiest man in the universe to have that love.

Did Greg think of him in the same way? A part of Ryan wanted to ask that question, but another part of him held back. He could never see himself being thought of as beautiful, even though he didn't think he was a bad-looking guy at all.

He'd never be as beautiful as Greg; he just didn't have that effervescent quality about him, that special something that made people sit up and take notice. But it didn't matter whether he did or not; as long as Greg loved him, that was enough for him.

Besides, beauty was in the eye of the beholder, wasn't it? he told himself with a smile. Greg thought he was beautiful, so it didn't matter what he himself, or anyone else, might think. As long as Greg was happy with him, then he was satisfied.

Between the two of them, they had made something beautiful that they would treasure for all of their lives. An entity that they could almost reach out and touch, a love that would wrap around them and keep them safe and sheltered for all of their days.

He might not think that he was beautiful compared to his boyfriend, on his own, Ryan told himself with a smile -- but together, they had made something beautiful, something that would always be a part of him. And somehow, that made him feel beautiful in a way that he never had before.

But not as beautiful as his Greg, he thought as he bowed his head to brush a gentle kiss, as gossamer as the sweep of a butterfly's wing through the air, against his boyfriend's slightly parted lips. Greg was the ultimate beauty in his life, for now and for always.
