The stage at the club was still in darkness when Jim and Gil took their seats at a table. They ordered their drinks and waited.

A few minutes later a spotlight focused on the man sitting behind the piano. His green eyes sought out the two men; seeing them, he smiled.

The emcee said, "Please, give a warm welcome to Warrick Brown!"

Before beginning, Warrick leaned close to the microphone. "This first song is one I wrote for a couple of very important people in my life. Gil, Jim, this is for you," he said, fingers dropping onto the keys.
