Greg couldn't think as he and Danny sank down onto the bed, their hands roaming over each other's bodies, their mouths meeting, tongues exploring. For just a moment, they were a tangle of limbs and emotions, both of them overwhelmed by their closeness.

Within seconds, they were tugging at each other's clothes; all Greg wanted was to get Danny's shirt off, to see this man at least half-naked before his eyes. It seemed that Danny wanted the same thing -- only he was starting with Greg's jeans.

It only took him a few seconds to have Greg's jeans unbuttoned and unzipped; Greg raised his hips so that Danny could ease them down his legs, then kicked them off. It felt deliciously decadent to be lying on the bed under this man, naked from the waist down.

He gave up on trying to unbutton Danny's shirt; there were too many buttons, and his fingers were too sluggish -- or too excited. Frustrated, he simply grabbed the fabric in both hands, wrenching until it ripped down the front, then pushing it off Danny's shoulders.

Danny laughed softly, lowering his head to nip at Greg's throat. "In a hurry, aren't you?" he breathed, his hands moving up Greg's thighs. "I never liked that shirt much, anyway. No great loss. And I like the way you ripped it off me. That was sexy."

"Everything about you is sexy," Greg panted, moving his hands down Danny's muscular arms. He couldn't wait to feel those arms around him, to feel this man thrusting into him. He wanted Danny more than he could ever remember wanting anyone in his entire life.

There was only one thought that could make him hesitate -- and it popped into his head at that precise moment. What if this was only a one-night stand? What if, after tonight, he was just one of many guys who'd come willingly to Danny's bed?

After all, Danny was a celebrity. There must be a lot of people who wanted to sleep with him -- and Greg didn't doubt that at some point, Danny might have taken advantage of that fact, though he had a hard time imagining this man as some kind of wanton seducer.

"Greg, what's wrong?" He should have known that Danny would realize his hesitation, Greg thought with a sigh. The other man rolled over, sitting up and reaching out to cup Greg's cheek, looking worried. "Did I do something you didn't like?"

Greg shook his head, not quite knowing how to put what he was thinking into words. If he accused Danny of only wanting a one-night stand, he didn't doubt that he'd find himself hustled out of the door in a matter of minutes, and he'd more than likely never see Danny again.

What was he supposed to say? He didn't really feel that this was nothing more than one night of pleasure for either of them; Danny didn't seem like the type of guy who went in for that. But he had to hear it from Danny, had to know in words that he wasn't just a quick lay.

Danny had already said it when they were kissing in the living room; he'd told Greg then that he was looking for more than a one-night stand. But things were different now; they were nearly naked with each other, baring their bodies and, hopefully, their hearts as well.

Greg took a deep breath, closing his eyes before he spoke. "Danny, you said that you wanted this to be more than a one-night stand. Do you still feel that way? I mean .... I want to have you in my life for a long time. As a lover. I don't want this to end."

"It's not going to," Danny told him, bending over him, his voice soft in Greg's ears. When he opened his eyes, Danny was looking down at him, gazing into his face. "Greg, I've needed someone to love for a long time. And tonight, I've made my choice. Tonight it's you."

"Only tonight?" Greg couldn't keep himself from asking the question; he wanted to swallow the words as soon as he'd said them, to call them back into nonexistence. But it was too late now; the question hung in the air between them, hovering there breathlessly.

"No, not just for tonight," Danny told him, taking Greg's face between his hands and leaning down to kiss him thoroughly before he spoke again. "For lifetimes. For the rest of our lives, anyway. And whatever might happen to come along after that."

Greg closed his eyes, a sigh of relief leaving his lips. Danny didn't want him for just one night; he wanted him forever -- and that was exactly the way he felt about this man. He wanted to be with Danny for the rest of his life, to spend every day and night with him.

He could feel Danny's hands tugging at his shirt, lifting it over his head and off to toss it aside. They were naked now, skin to skin, no physical barriers between their bodies. He couldn't suppress a soft moan, or the shiver that swept over his body at the thought of what was to come.

When Danny's lips met his again, his body arched upwards, his arms winding around Danny's neck to pull him closer. He didn't care what might happen after tonight; the future no longer seemed to matter. The only thing that was important was how it felt to be in Danny's arms.

Danny was pulling away slightly, reaching for the table by the side of the bed; Greg knew exactly what he was looking for, his breath coming faster at the thought. He was reaching for the lube that was more than likely in the drawer of that table.

It only took a few seconds for him to realize he'd been right; Danny's hand was slipping between his spread thighs, his fingers coated with the slippery lubricant. Greg's breath hitched in his throat as one finger pressed against him, seeking entrance.

He cried out softly when that finger entered him, quickly joined by a second. Within moments, Danny was sliding his fingers in and out of Greg, scissoring them, preparing him gently but quickly. Greg could feel his heartbeat accelerating; he couldn't wait much longer.

When Danny's fingers slid out of him, he almost cried out in protest; he felt empty, the promise of quick fulfillment taken away. But he kept himself from saying a word; he knew that what was coming next would be much better than what had gone before.

Greg gasped when Danny plunged into him; he hadn't expected the other man to be so demanding, so forceful. It only took him a few moments to wrap his long legs around Danny's waist in response, his fingers digging into the smooth flesh of the other man's back.

He'd had sex with men before, but nothing had ever felt like this. Each thrust seemed to fill him to a point where he could swear that he and Danny were two halves of the same whole, two puzzle pieces that had finally been fused together into the right places.

He had been made for this man. Danny fit inside him in a way that no one else ever had; Danny felt like a part of him, not a separate entity that was making love to him. They melded together, became one, their bodies and souls united.

Greg could feel himself rocketing up towards the stars; he knew that this wasn't going to last for long. He couldn't hold himself back -- and he didn't want to. He wanted the pleasure of this night to envelop him, to wrap him up in warmth and love over and over again.

It didn't matter if their first time didn't last long -- because there would be other times. They would be able to make love again and again, giving themselves to each other for the rest of their lives. This definitely wasn't just a one-night stand. It was already so much more.

When the wave of pleasure broke and washed over him, he cried out Danny's name, raising his hands to twine his fingers through the other man's hair. He could feel Danny's release inside him just as he himself came; the power of their mutual orgasms shook him from the inside out.

He had never come simultaneously with any of his past lovers. He'd heard about it, but he hadn't realized just how intense the experience would be -- and he hadn't expected it to happen with a man he was making love with for the first time. It was the most exhilarating feeling he'd ever had.

Danny pulled out of him slowly, rolling over onto his side and gathering Greg into his arms. Neither of them spoke for several long moments; the only sound in the quiet of the room was their breathing, ragged at first, then finally settling into more deep, measured breaths.

Finally, Danny raised a hand to stroke gentle fingers through Greg's hair; he propped himself up on one elbow, smiling down at the man beside him. "That was .... amazing. If I had known we'd be that good together, I would have taken you to bed a long time ago."

"You might not have had the chance then," Greg told him, moving one finger down Danny's chest to tease one nipple. "I wouldn't have been able to get involved with you when we were working on the case that involved your dad. It would've been a conflict of interest."

"Well, now there's nothing to keep us away from each other," Danny murmured, sliding both arms around Greg's waist and pulling him close. "And I don't intend to stay away from you, Greg. Not tonight, or any other night. I want to spend every second I can with you."

"We have to spend time away from each other when we're working," Greg pointed out with a soft sigh. "I'm going to hate it when you're off on a tour or something," he whispered, letting himself look ahead to the times when Danny wouldn't be here with him.

What if Danny found someone else while he was out on the road? It was entirely possible, he told himself, his heart constricting in his chest at the thought. There were a lot of people out there who would throw themselves at Danny, even if it was only for a one-night stand.

"You don't have to worry about that," Danny told him, his voice soft and loving. He placed a finger beneath Greg's chin, raising the other man's face to his. "Greg, I'm not the kind of guy who screws around on the person I love. Tonight it's you -- tonight, and for the rest of our lives."

Greg nodded, his gaze searching Danny's face. He knew that he would have to trust this man not to hurt him, to be faithful and not to stray. And Danny would have to trust him to do the same, too. That kind of trust would have to go both ways.

"I love you," Danny whispered, leaning down to brush his lips against Greg's. "Those aren't easy words for me to say, Greg. When I say them, I mean them. I know it seems sudden, but .... I'm head over heels for you. I just hope you feel the same way."

All Greg could do was nod, wrapping his arms around Danny's neck to pull him closer. "Yes," he managed to murmur before those lips captured his own again, Danny's kiss sweeping him away into another world, a world that he wanted to stay in for as long as possible.
