"Good grief!" Greg blinked as a gust of wind made him stumble and bump into Ryan, who was standing right next to him. "I didn't think it was this windy out here. I knew the wind was blowing, but this is crazy. Good thing we already took Wolfie out for his walk."

"I don't think we should be out here," Ryan pointed out, shaking his head. "It's not like we need to walk out to the coffee shop. Let's just go back in and make our own coffee." He glanced around them, his frown matching Greg's. "Nobody seems to want to go out."

Ryan was right, Greg realized as he looked at the street around them. There were fewer cars going by than usual, and everyone in the apartment complex seemed to be safely inside. No one wanted to venture out on a day like this unless they absolutely had to.

"Okay," Greg said, pouting a little as he turned back towards theif front door. "I guess it makes more sense to stay inside today. But let it be known that I really wanted to go out for coffee and a danish. When it's less windy, you're taking me out. And you're buying."

"Anything you say, lover," Ryan told him with a laugh, ushering his boyfriend back into the apartment and closing the door behind them. Actually, it slammed behind him, courtesy of another gust of wind. "It hasn't been this windy out since I've been in Vegas.'

"It happens," Greg said with a shrug. "Usually, it means there's a storm coming. Not that it bothers me. I'm used to bad weather. I grew up in California, I've lived in New York, and now Vegas. So I've pretty much seen the whole spectrum. No kind of weather really gets to me any more."

Ryan grimaced as he gestured towards the window. "I don't know about you, but I don't like storms. And I don't like this wind much, either. It'll be pretty easy for the power to get knocked out if this keeps up -- and if there's a storm, there's even more of a chance of that happening."

"So we'd be in the dark for a while, and we wouldn't be able to use our electronic stuff." Greg shrugged, giving Ryan a saucy look. "And you think this would be a bad thing?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. "I was thinking it would give us a chance to cuddle ...."

Ryan couldn't help laughing at the anticipatory look on his boyfriend's handsome face. "I'd say you're actually looking forward to the possibility of the power going out," he teased, reaching out to slide an arm around Greg's waist and pull him close. "I should have known."

"I can think of lots of things we can do if the power goes out," Greg said, his voice suddenly soft and husky. "All of them involve being in bed, but I think that's one of your favorite places. I sure hope so, because it's definitely one of mine."

"You're insatiable," Ryan told him with a laugh, pressing a kiss against his boyfriend's cheek. "Come on, let's get into the kitchen and make ourselves coffee before the power goes out." He stepped away from Greg to head for the kitchen, speaking over his shoulder as he went.

"Y'know, that café down the street delivers, if you really want coffee and a danish from there," he said, the thought having only just occurred to him. "So it shouldn't be a problem to get something from there, even if it storms and the whole area loses power."

Greg laughed, shaking his head as he followed Ryan into the kitchen. "If that happens, it won't be until a storm pops up," he pointed out, leaning against the counter, his arms crossed over his chest. "It's just windy out there now. It won't storm for a while."

"Are you so sure that we'll get a storm, just because it's windy?" Ryan asked, his brow furrowing. "I'm hoping that we won't. I don't like the idea of having to deal with no power. I like your ideas about what to do if it goes out, but remember -- we won't be able to shower."

Greg made a face, sticking out his tongue. "I forgot about that," he muttered, looking annoyed. "Okay, maybe I'm not ready for us to lose power. Having to go without a shower is no fun." He brightened as he recalled what else Ryan had said. "But ordering coffee is a good idea."

"Why don't we do that, instead of making our own?" Ryan suggested with a smile. "We can get a couple of those danishes you love so much, and have a little picnic in the living room." He reached for his cell phone, scrolling through the numbers until he came to the right one.

He knew what Greg usually ordered when they went there; when the person on the other end of the line picked up, he quickly placed their order, thanked them and hung up. "It should be here within half an hour," he told Greg with a smile. "Now that's service."

"And we didn't even have to go out into the wind," Greg said, laughing. "You think of everything, Ry. What would I do without you?" He held up a hand, shaking his head. "Don't answer that. I know what I'd do. I'd either go hungry, or go out on a really windy day just to get coffee."

"I feel sorry for the person who has to deliver it," Ryan said, looking towards the window again. "Look at the trees. It almost looks like they're leaning every time the wind starts blowing harder. If they try to walk from the coffee shop to here, they're going to have a rough time of it."

"They'll probably drive, with the wind blowing like it is," Greg said, going to the window and peering outside. "I doubt anybody would try to walk even a few blocks in wind like this. I'm surprised they're even delivering. But it's a good thing for us. Saves us some trouble."

"All we have to do is cuddle up and wait for the coffee and danishes to get here," Ryan agreed, sitting down on the couch and holding out his arms to Greg. Within seconds, his boyfriend was beside him, snuggling into Ryan's embrace and resting his head on his shoulder.

"You know we'll just have to get back up again when the coffee gets here," Greg said with a sigh. "Which one of us is going to pull out his wallet and go to the door? I say it's you, since it was your idea to order out. I'll get the next round, I promise."

"Sounds good to me," Ryan said with a smile. "I only have one stipulation. If you want me to pay, then you're going to have to resign yourself to drinking coffee and eating danishes in bed. Because that's where I want to take you as soon as that delivery gets here."

Greg laughed softly, burying his face against Ryan's throat, his soft lips trailing down the other man's skin to his collarbone. "That's exactly where I was hoping we would go. What better way to spend a windy day when the power might go out than cuddling in bed?"

Ryan closed his eyes, a wave of pleasure washing over his body at the touch of Greg's lips on his skin. He couldn't speak for a moment, couldn't think straight, could hardly breathe. All he could think of was that in just a short while, he'd be in bed with the man he loved.

Anything could happen when they were both in this kind of mood, he told himself with an inward smile. Maybe he should give thanks to the wind, after all. And if the power went out .... well, then, he was sure that they could think of quite a few ways to keep themselves occupied.
