Summary: Nick’s thoughts after it’s all over…
A/N: This is my very first attempt at writing anything besides poetry and songs.

Nick stood at the window watching the rain while bitter tears ran unchecked down his cheeks. He was thinking of Gil and the way things had ended between them.

Two days earlier, Nick had gone to see Gil and try to talk to him about their situation. Gil didn't seem to be overly concerned that Nick was upset, and proceeded to inform him that what they had was just fun and games, and apologized if he felt that he had been led on. Gil then told Nick that he had a date, and that he would see him at work. Nick, too numb to say anything, simply drove himself home and cried himself to sleep.

After spending most of the next day in bed, Nick started thinking about the situation. He came to the conclusion that this was probably for the best, even though it hurt like Hell.

And now, here he was trying to let a little of the hurt out while watching the rain fall, and the one thought that kept coming into his mind was this: "I tried to make him love me, but he wouldn't. It just goes to show you can't grow peaches on a cherry tree."
