Greg sighed softly and snuggled into Ryan's embrace, feeling more happy and satisfied than he'd ever thought he could feel. How was it that every time they made love, it seemed to get better? Maybe it was just because they were so used to each other at this point.

Other couples might think that being accustomed to the person you were with was boring, but Greg felt secure in the knowledge that he and Ryan knew each other so well, in bed and out of it. He'd never had that kind of security in his life before, and he needed it.

Loving Ryan was the most security he'd ever known -- well, at least since he was a kid, he corrected himself. His family had been very close, and he'd been showered with love from them ever since was a child. But this love was far different from that of his family.

This was the kind of love that took him over, heart, body and soul. This was a love that not only involved his heart, but every other part of him, as well. This was the kind of love that romance authors wrote about, the kind of love that looked on tempests and stood firm.

This love would last forever, he told himself dreamily. If there was such a thing as reincarnation, he would love Ryan in his next life, and the next, and however many lives he might happen to have. He was meant to be with this man, for the rest of eternity.

"Do you have any idea how much I love you?" he whispered, tilting his head back to look up at Ryan. "I love you more than I can even begin to put into words, Ry. Truly, madly, deeply -- there aren't enough words in any language to express what my feelings are."

"I feel the same way, you know," Ryan told him, his voice soft and loving. His arm tightened around Greg's waist, drawing his boyfriend closer against his side. "If I tried to put how I feel about you into words, I'd run out of them before I even started expressing how much I love you."

"I wonder why it's so hard to express an emotion that most people can just say in three little words?" Greg mused, a slight frown marring his brow. "It's enough for a lot of people to just say 'I love you.' But with us, I don't think that even starts to scratch the surface of how we feel."

"I think we could spend decades saying how much we love each other, and we'd still only scratch the surface o how we feel," Ryan said softly, raising a hand to stroke his fingers through Greg's hair. "There's not enough time or words in the world for me to tell you how much I love you."

"I've always thought the phrase 'truly, madly, deeply' is kind of misleading," Greg said with a soft laugh. "I don't know if I really want somebody to love me madly. I've seen how scary it can be to have somebody who's more than a little crazy focus their attention on you."

Ryan nodded, turning over onto his side and sliding both arms around Greg waist to pull him close. Greg did the same, wishing that he could stay here in Ryan's arms forever, and that they would never have to let each other go or worry about what was happening in the world outside.

"I'll agree that part of it is a little scary, but the truly and deeply parts are what I try to focus on," Ryan said, his voice very soft and husky. "I don't think I could begin to tell you how deep my love for you goes, Greg. If I tried, I'd never be able to find the right words."

"Do you think we're sounding awfully sentimental?" Greg asked, raising his head to look up at Ryan again. "I don't, but I know a lot of people would think less of us if they could hear us talking like this. Like we're not real men if we talk about how much we love each other."

Ryan shook his head, laughing softly as he did so. "I don't care what anybody else might think, and I hope you don't, either," he said, his tone firm and decisive. "The only thing that matters to me is that you know how much I love you. If I have to say it a million times, then I will."

"You're everything I've ever wanted or needed, Ryan," Greg said with a happy sigh as he snuggled more deeply into Ryan's embrace. "How did we get so lucky? When we found each other, I was starting to think that I'd never be able to find anybody I could fall in love with."

"I'd been thinking that for a long time myself," Ryan admitted, sighing softly and tightening his arms around Greg's waist. "I'd been looking in the wrong places, I think. I wasn't letting love come to me. I was going out and trying to find it, and that never works."

"Society teaches people that they're supposed to go out and look for love," Greg murmured, shaking his head. "But I've found out that it's better to let love come to you. That's how it's worked out best for me, anyway," he said, heaving a contented sigh. "I couldn't be happier with that."

"Neither could I," Ryan said with a soft laugh. "Who'd have thought that once I finally decided to stop looking for somebody to love me, they'd fall right into my lap? It's like the second I made up my mind to just let nature take its course .... that's when it did."

"I never thought I'd ever be able to love anybody in that kind of way," Greg said, his voice soft and dreamy. "You know, the 'truly, madly, deeply' kind of way. I thought I'd been pretty much destroyed as far as love was concerned. That I couldn't feel it. I'm glad you proved me wrong about that."

"So am I," Ryan whispered, brushing a gentle kiss across Greg's forehead. "Because you have so much love to give, Greg. It would have been awful if you'd never been able to find anyone to love. You'd have missed out -- and so would they. You deserve to love and be loved."

"We both do," Greg told him, pressing a kiss to the hollow of Ryan's throat. He could feel the other man's pulse leap; in seconds, Ryan had rolled him over onto his back and was on top of him, looking down at him with desire in his intense gaze.

"I love you," he whispered, his voice ragged with desire. "And I want you, Greg. I want to make love to you all night. I want to take you, to be inside you, to feel you around me. And I want to hold you and kiss you and love you and be with you until the end of time."

"You will be," Greg said softly, raising a hand to run his fingers through Ryan's hair. "I love you truly, madly, and deeply, Ryan. I love you with all my heart and soul. I'll be with you forever -- and you'll own my heart forever. Nothing would ever make me leave."

He was certain that he could see the sheen of unshed tears in Ryan's green eyes before those lips captured his own; within moments, all he could think of was his desire for the man holding him. The simmering passion between them had quickly become a raging conflagration.

His arms slid around Ryan's neck to pull his boyfriend closer, one leg twining around Ryan's. He wanted to hold this man close to him for a lifetime, to feel Ryan inside him, to join their bodies in the most primal of embraces time and time again, until time ceased to exist.

There was no longer any coherent thought; there was only the two of them, the touch of Ryan's hands and lips on his body, taking him to the stars. Oh yes, he loved this man, truly, madly, and deeply. And Greg knew that love would never fade, in this life or in any other.
