A/N: Another of those "slices of life" that ya'll like so much!

Nick was running sideways, or so it seemed. Of course Christmas was always like that when his family got together. It seemed that there was always something to be done, and not enough people to go around to get things done. Nick was hoping to get Gil to help with some of the smaller stuff so he could help with the bigger chores.

As he made his way through the house, he asked various relatives if they had seen Gil. No one had recalled seeing him recently, and Nick kept looking. He saw his 9-year old niece Amanda coming down the stairs, and asked her if she had seen Uncle Gil. She affirmed that she had, and proceeded to tell Nick that Gil was in their bedroom with Kyle's boyfriend Scott.

Nick took the stairs two at a time, and rushed to the bedroom he and Gil were using during their visit. Needless to say he was ill-prepared for the sight that greeted him as he opened the door. To Gil's credit, he was still fully clothed. Scott, on the other hand, was a different story. The young man stood there is a pair of tight boxer briefs that left little to the imagination. The kicker was the fact that Scott had his arms draped around Gil's neck, but Gil looked liked he was going to be physically ill.

Nick charged into the room saying, "Motherfucker, if you want to keep those arms, you'ld better get 'em from around my husband's neck!"

"Nick, calm down...this isn't what it looks like," said Gil. Nick turned around, stepped to the bedroom door, and yelled down the stairs for his nephew Kyle to come up there. Kyle came pounding up the stairs, and stepped into the room. Scott took in the scene, and demanded to know just what in gay hell was going on.

Nick explained to his nephew what he saw when he walked into the room, then told him to takeScott to their room because he wanted to talk to Gil alone. After they left the room, Nick turned to Gil and told him that he could see when he came in that Gil was uncomfortable, but Nick wanted to know why Gil didn't stop the situation. Gil explained that Scott had come to him because he felt that Kyle was ignoring him, and that he wanted somebody to talk to. Nick commented that it didn't look like they were doing much talking, and that he wasn't buying Gil's explanation.

Gil didn't know what to do. He knew the situation looked bad, but he also knew that it wasn't what Nick and Kyle were thinking. He would never cheat on Nick, and thought that Nick knew that. Of course being caught in the arms of a nearly-naked man didn't help. About that time, Kyle knocked on the door, and asked to speak to Nick out in the hall.

Once in the hall, Kyle told his uncle that Scott explained that he was jealous of what Nick and Gil had, and he wanted to take Nick down a peg or two by trying to sleep with Gil. Kyle also explained that Scott wasn't particularly fond of Nick, and that he would do anything to make him look like a fool. Nick told Kyle that he didn't understand why Scott felt that way, he had just barely met the guy. Kyle said that he didn't know why the guy felt that way either, but that he was packing to leave and that Kyle was taking him to the bus station.

Nick made his way down the hall to the room where Scott and Kyle were staying. As he walked in, Scott looked up and Nick couldn't miss the hateful look that crossed the younger man's face.

"Look, I don't know what you're problem is, but I've come here to tell you that I think what you've done is really shitty, Scott".

"Like I give a damn what you think, Nick."

"I just met you...what did I ever do to you?"

"You have the things I always wanted...a successful career, a wonderful guy, money, you know, everything!"

"All of those things I have worked really hard for, and I'm not about to let you or ten more like you take it away from me."

"Kyle doesn't keep me happy, and won't give me the things I want."

"Scott, I don't know what to tell you, but trying to cause disturbances in my affairs won't help you."

"If you're done, I'd like to finish packing..."

Nick left the room and went back to his and Gil's room. Gil was standing in the doorway talking to Kyle. Kyle apologized to his Uncle Nick for what happened, and Nick told him that it wasn't his fault. He turned to Gil and apologized for doubting him, but also told him that he still wanted to discuss why Gil didn't try and fight Scott off. They went into the bedroom, and Gil told Nick the truth. Scott had threatened to tell Nick and Kyle that Gil had tried to force himself on Scott, and that Gil had threatened to hurt him badly if he said anything.

Nick turned to Gil and explained that he knew deep-down that Gil wouldn't cheat. Nick knew this because many opportunities had presented themselves, and Gil hadn't taken the bait thus far. Gil was relieved to know that Nick still had faith in him, and that by telling the truth, he was able to look Nick in the eye. Nick pulled Gil into his arms, and proceeded to kiss him silly. Gil relaxed in Nick's arms and asked Nick if they should be getting downstairs for dinner. Nick looked at Gil and said, "Let 'em wait!"
