Title: Wedding Day Revelations
By: Sonia
Pairing: Nick/Warrick
Rating: PG
Note: The thing that came knocking on my door last night. It was inspired by the pictures of George at the Emmys. The man is soooo cherry! Who could resist him? Definitely not, Warrick.
Summary: Wedding day, duh.

I never thought I’d see the day. Sara getting hitched. Color me shocked. She’s the happiest I’ve ever seen her. He was a fool to have let her stay single this long. Leave it to her to have a wedding party of a matron of honor, Catherine of course and two “bride’s friends”. Yup Nick and I are standing up with her. My grandma laughed herself silly after hearing about it.

“Look at you all Vera Wanged.” I say as I watch her fix her veil.

“Imitation Wang all the way, baby.”

“Thank you for making it a formal event. Seeing Nick in a tux is worth having to rent one for myself.”

She dropped her hands. “When are you going to tell him how you feel?”

“Never. The man played baseball on a team called the Rebels. ‘Nough said. He ain’t down for swinging from the other side of the plate.”

Sara shakes her head at me in the mirror. “everyone knows except him. This is ridiculous. I think you’re wrong about him. I think he wants you too.”
From her mouth to God’s ear. She’s not finished yelling at me.

“How long did it take for me to get my head out of my ass about my very near future husband?”

“Years.”

She turns around to me. “Don’t waste as much time as I did. Go get him.” she smiles.

The door opens again and the smile brightens even more.

Nick walks in looking like ice cream on a hot summer’s day.

“Hey Miss Sara Sidle. You ready to get rid of the rhyme?” He offers her his arm.

She takes it and walks pass me. “Yeah. Can you believe he insisted I take his name? It was a deal breaker.” She says with a dumb founded look on her face.

Nick grins at her. “He’s a forceful guy when he’s riled up.”

“My new name sounds so old money. Although sometimes you have to be willing to put yourself out there to get what you really want.” She shoots me the most obvious look imaginable.

“Rick, what’s she on about?” Nick says over his shoulder.

I faked it. “Beats me. Maybe the dress is too tight. Let’s go make this trip down the aisle a fast one.”

She stops us. “It’s traditional for the all members of the wedding party to get drunk and have sex with each other you know.” She picks up the long skirt of her dress and marches out the door.

Nick quirks an eyebrow at me. “Are we all suppose to have sex with Catherine?”

I had nothing to say. The door was open. The lights were on but not a sound came out of my mouth.

“Father” of the bride Grissom comes in from the hallway. He leans over to Nick. I could tell he wanted to add his six cents to the discussion. I’m beginning to feel like this is a planned attack on me.

“You know Nick sometimes things aren’t as..simple as Tab A into slot B. Sometimes Tab A and Tab A is the correct solution, even though the directions tell you something else. Open your mind to all the possibilities. Why don’t you explain it to him Warrick?” He winks at me and walks away.

Nick backs up with moonpie eyes. Then very very slowly his eyes crinkle up in their beautiful way. His mouth stretches wider and wider.

He moves closer to me. “Yeah why don’t you explain it to me after the reception.” I start to finally form a sentence when Sara returns.

“Hello? I’m here to get married today, remember? You guys figure out your sordid little affair on you own time. David Phillips has already waited too long for me. Let’s go!”

Nick looks up at me with his warm brown eyes. He puts his hand between my shoulder blades and rubs. The pressure is sweet.

“Is this going to be a sordid little affair?” His voice feels like good Scotch. It goes down smooth with a little bit of a burn.
Oh yeah. “Sordid, definitely. Little? No way, man. All the things I want with you are larger than life.”

He grins. “It’s funny. This morning I thought I was going to see the start of a brand new relationship. The CSI and the Coroner. It sounds like a fairytale.”

“Yeah it does. Sometimes the best stories end at the same place as the next one begins.” I say as I return his smile. I couldn’t help it. I took a huge chance and kissed him. Just a peck really but I had to.

Nick lit up like the Mirage at night. “Instead of ending with a kiss, this story begins with one."

“The End.” We’re both laughing as we head for the chapel. Only the beginning.
