Horatio stared at it and then poked at it with his shoe.

“It’s not going to bite you.” Speed slipped his arms around his lover.

“What is it?” Horatio poked it again.

Speed laughed. “I know you were born and raised in Miami, but really H. It’s called snow.”

“But what is it doing here?” Horatio looked across their yard and their neighborhood.

“Freak weather,” Speed shrugged. “It was so cold last night that it snowed.”

“But we live in Miami.” Horatio kicked at the white stuff.

Speed pulled him back inside the house. “Come on, we can actually use the fireplace.”
