Don sat in the kitchenreading the morning paper. He and Adam had finally gotten a few days off together, and he was excited at the thought of being with his love without work rearing its ugly head. He smiled when he heard Adam singing while he showered. Adam was always doing goofy things like that. Those goofy things were just some of the many things Don loved about him.

While listening to Adam sing, Don made his way to the bedroom closet. He found the shoebox he was looking for, and reached inside. His fingers found the ring box, and he put it in his pocket. Today was going to be a very special day!

Don went back to the kitchen and poured himself another cup of coffee. As he sat down at the table, Adam came bouncing in.

"Hey, Donnie!"

"Hey yourself, Sunshine!"

Adam giggled and walked over to Don and kissed him. Don snagged Adam by the shirt and pulled him down into his lap. They started kissing like there was no tomorrow.

When they finally came up for air, Don got up and fixed Adam a cup of coffee. Adam asked him what the agenda was for the day.

"I need to run a couple of errands, and I thought we'd have a picnic at Strawberry Fields."

"I love going there. That sounds like fun!"

They finished getting ready and left to start their day. Don got his errands out of the way, and they stopped at one of their favorite delis for their picnic. They found their "spot" vacant, and set everything up for their picnic. Adam liked this particular spot in the park because it was under this very tree that he and Don had told each other of their feelings, and where they decided to try and make a go of it.

After they finished eating, Don looked at Adam and told him that he had something to ask him. Adam was taken aback because Don seemed so serious.

"Adam, I want to ask you a very serious question, and I want you to think for a moment before you give me your answer."

"Sure, Don, what is it?"

Don reached into his pocket and pulled out the ring box.

"Adam, I want to know if you'll be mine forever."

Adam was speechless! He had often daydreamed about this very thing happening, and now here it was. No daydream! Adam's eyes filled with tears as he thought of all the times Don told him that he wasn't going anywhere, and that Adam was all he ever wanted. Don was making good on his promise. Adam looked up at Don and was shocked to see those beautiful blue eyes filled with tears.

"Don, yes, I will be yours forever!"
