The words are still stuck in my head, as I run toward the crime scene. Nick had told me Sara had gotten into an accident, involving a criminal. 'Please don't let it be to bad.' Is all I can think as I reach the scene, my eyes roam it franticaly. 'Where are they?' I spot Grissom squating down to a woman, I hoped wasn't who I thought.

I run toward them and look down at the woman, surely enough it is her. Her brown hair is messy, and her eyes are barely open, her skin pale, and lips parted. "Sara" I say the word quietly, under my breath as I crouch to the ground. "She has been shot twice, once in her leg, and once in her side... Catherine, she uh..." I look up at Grissom as he says this "don't you dare finish that sentence."

Grissom sighs crossing his arms as I look back at Sara. "Where are the perimedics?" I ask and he looks around "They should be here any minute." I take one of Sara's pale hands and hold it, as she starts to close her eyes. I check her pulse, and it is slowing. "Grissom, she-she" He nods sorrow showing "I know." "No!" I say angrily, she cannot die, I will not let her.

Sara's grip tightens on my hand and then loosens, as if to get my attention. I look down at her, fear in my eyes, as her lips part even more and she speaks. "Cath, I-I'll miss you." I shake my head vigorously "No! You arn't going to miss me, because you arn't going anywhere." Sara smiled at me, that toothy grin I've grown to love. "Time is running out..." Tears are now forming in my eyes "God no." "Yes... I-I love you." "I love you too." These were the last words she heard as she closed her eyes , and her life slipped away. I still have nightmares of that day. The day Sara died, the day the love of my life died.
